The Past President's Parley of The American Legion Auxiliary, Department of Texas offers a scholarship award to a child or grandchild of a veteran who served in the Armed Forces during eligibility dates for membership in the American Legion and who is pursuing a career in the medical field. Applicants must be a child, grandchild, or great-grandchild of a veteran of the United States Armed Forces. Neither veteran nor applicant are required to be a member of the American Legion Family. Applicants must be a high school graduate or current 2025-2026 Senior high school student (may be currently enrolled in college courses). Applicants must be applying to an Institution of Higher Learning in Texas or within the United States, with a course of study in the fields of medicine including but not limited to medical doctor, nurse, pharmacology, veterinarian services, mental health, dental services, etc. Applicants must be enrolled in said Institution of Higher Learning no later than August 1, 2026. Applicants must submit three original personal and/or professional letters of recommendation written within 90 days of submission. Applications may be submitted through mail or email.
