The Edna Earl Education Scholarship will be awarded to LGBTQ+ students of color pursuing a career in K-12 education (teaching, admin, counseling), with a preference for students from Washington who are also attending a college in Washington. Applicants must be pursuing post-secondary education in the coming 2026-2027 school year. This includes community college; four-year public or private college or university; certificate programs; vocational, technical, or trade programs; law school; medical, dental, veterinary school; or graduate education. Applicants are required to submit three essays for application: the Personal Statement and Community Involvement and Vision Essay, both which may be submitted as a video or written essay; and the Financial Picture Essay, which must only be submitted as a written essay. The following materials are optional and may be submitted with the application: academic transcript (official or unofficial); resume, which must include work experience and school activities and honors; extracurricular and community activities, including volunteer roles, arts, and/or activism; a letter of recommendation; and 1-2 writing or art samples. Applicants must only include or submit what helps the Foundation understand their experience and goals more fully.
