The SDNF Research Grant will be awarded based on the objective of NOFO, which is to fund collaborative, practice-based research using evidence and involving registered nurses with the goal of improving outcomes or quality of care in a patient care environment. Principal Investigators must have a current SDNA membership. They must have an unencumbered South Dakota RN license or unencumbered RN license with a compact state. They must also have a master's degree in nursing or doctoral degree in nursing or related field. Their research proposal must align with the NOFO purpose. South Dakota registered nurses must be involved in one or more of the study's activities. The research study must be conducted in South Dakota. The study duration or period of performance is a maximum of 12 months. Applicants must submit a proposal which includes a Cover Page with research proposal title and PI name, job title, organizational affiliation; Abstract; and Narrative which includes the Problem Statement, Study Purposes or Aims, Theoretical Basis or Conceptual Framework, Setting and Patient Care Environment, Participants (if human subjects are involved, the PI is responsible for IRB approval), Proposed Practice-based Change or Intervention (describe evidence supporting this approach), Outcome or Quality of Care Measures (including approach to data collection, analysis, and reporting or dissemination of results), Collaboration, and South Dakota Registered Nurse Involvement (describe involvement in one or more of the study's activities: conceptualization, implementation, data collection, analysis, or dissemination).
