1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Alaska Performance Scholarship (APS) is a merit-based scholarship available to Alaska high school students. To qualify for the APS, students must complete a specific, rigorous high school curriculum; and earn a qualifying GPA or meet a qualifying score on college or career entrance exam (ACT, SAT, WorkKeys). Students who completed a specified high school curriculum and have a high school GPA of 2.5 or ACT of 21 or SAT of 1060 may receive up to $3,500 per year. Students who completed a specified high school curriculum and have a high school GPA of 3.0 or ACT of 23 or SAT of 1130 may receive up to $5,250 per year. Students who completed a specified high school curriculum and have a high school GPA of 3.5 or ACT of 25 or SAT of 1210 may receive up to $7,000 per year. Students remain eligible for 8 semesters of use or 6 years from high school graduation, whichever comes first. For 12 or more credits, students can receive a full amount of award; for 6-11 credits students can receive half of the award. Admissions application and transcripts must be submitted before the admissions deadlines of June 15 for fall and November 1 for spring. Submit the FAFSA each year before June 30.
