The Ronald A. Hammond Scholarship is open to high school seniors who have demonstrated academic excellence and a commitment to their surrounding community. Preference will be given to first-generation students. School counselors may nominate an applicant or applicants they feel match the Portrait of a Hammond Scholar. Current and former Hammond Scholars may also nominate an applicant or applicants they feel match the Portrait of a Hammond Scholar. Nomination forms for the Hammond Scholarship must be submitted by November 10. Recipients of the Hammond Scholarship will be invited to participate in the University of Miami's scholarship program.
