The Hope College Distinguished Artist Award in Music is awarded based on auditions, which are strongly encouraged to be done in person. Students do not need to audition to be a part of the music program at Hope College, but only those who audition will be considered for a scholarship. Students do not need to major or minor in music to receive a scholarship, but they do need to continue with applied lessons (for credit) on the instrument on which they auditioned and were awarded a scholarship, and be in an ensemble (which can be for credit or zero credit).
