The Fulbright Distinguished Scholar in Humanities and Social Sciences at the American Studies Center, University of Warsaw award holder will teach one graduate course and one undergraduate course per semester on a topic of their choosing. The graduate course will be a research proseminar; the undergraduate course will be a themed elective. Each course will consist of 90-minute sessions, once a week, for 15 weeks. The Distinguished Scholar will also be expected to give public lectures, advise graduate students, and generally engage in the academic life of the ASC. Areas of interest for this award are American Studies with related disciplines (sociology, economics, politics, history, culture, art history, and literature), and interdisciplinarity; also Western Hemispheric studies. The Distinguished Scholar can be awarded only to preeminent American Studies scholars with an outstanding publication record in their fields. Candidates are expected to have extensive teaching experience. It is expected that candidates will hold a Ph.D. in the humanities or social sciences and have at least 10 years of teaching experience. An invitation letter should not be sought. There are no language proficiency requirements, English is sufficient. All applicants must submit two recommendation letters.
