The Helen Tronvold Norwegian Folk High School Scholarship provides up to $3,000 to support U.S. citizens aged 17 to 26 who plan to attend a Folk High School in Norway. Applicants must submit proof of enrollment and be either current members of Sons of Norway or the children or grandchildren of members with at least one year of active membership prior to applying. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year and is open to students pursuing any field of study. Selection is based on academic potential, financial need, and a personal essay that explores the applicant's educational goals, community involvement, and alignment with the Foundation's core values. Required materials include a short autobiography, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and documentation of educational expenses. The award does not cover costs from prior academic terms such as room, board, or travel.
