The District 4 Scholarship offers up to $1,000 to support current members of Sons of Norway District 4 who are pursuing post-secondary education in the United States, Canada, or Norway. Open to U.S. and Canadian citizens aged 17 and older, the scholarship supports a wide range of educational paths, including technical or vocational training, undergraduate study, folk high school, and programs through the Oslo International Summer School (OISS). Applicants are evaluated based on academic potential, financial need, and a personal essay that explores their educational goals, community involvement, and alignment with the Foundation's core values. Required materials include a short autobiography, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and documentation of educational expenses. The award is for one academic year and does not cover prior room, board, or travel costs.
