The Bernt Anker Scholarship offers up to $3,000 annually for a maximum of four consecutive years, totaling up to $12,000 per recipient. Open to U.S. citizens aged 18 to 25, the scholarship supports students pursuing undergraduate or technical/vocational education in any field within the United States. Applicants must have completed or be nearing completion of high school and are not required to have college credit or Sons of Norway membership. Preference is given to individuals without parents or those raised by single parents. Selection is based on academic potential, financial need, and a personal essay addressing career goals, community involvement, and alignment with the Foundation's core values. Required materials include a short autobiography, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and proof of enrollment. The award covers one academic year at a time and excludes funding for prior room, board, or travel expenses.
