The Judith Lee Ridge Award recognizes the best article in the field of history in English published by a WAWH member in one of the two years preceding the award year. Applicants must hold membership that is current through the award year (December 31, 2026) when they submit their application. Current WAWH board members are not eligible to apply. The article must have been published in English in one of the two years preceding (2024 or 2025) the award year. Articles must be submitted with full scholarly apparatus. Articles may only be submitted for consideration once, no resubmissions in subsequent years. Articles may only be submitted in a given year for consideration for a single award, do not submit a single article for multiple award categories. Please select the award that best fits the work. All fields of history will be considered. Award winners may not submit an application for the same award within five years of winning. Applicants must submit one copy of the entry to each committee member. Applicants must also submit a statement that they are a current member of the WAWH. Applicants should verify that their membership is current through the end of the award year prior to submitting. Please visit the award's website for more information.
