The Fulbright Distinguished Scholar is co-hosted by the Raoul Wallenberg Institute of Human Rights and Humanitarian Law (RWI) and the Law Faculty at Lund University (LU). The aim is to promote collaboration between human rights scholars in the United States and Sweden. Scholars selected for this award can choose to advise and/or mentor students; assist in faculty, curriculum, and/or program development; conduct a research project of the applicant's choosing; teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses designated by the host institution; and/or teach graduate and/or undergraduate courses of the applicant's choosing. All topics within the area of international human rights law are considered. Applicants are encouraged to visit the websites of the Lund University Faculty of Law and the Raoul Wallenberg Institute for further details regarding focus areas and research environments. Applicants must have a law degree (J.D.) or S.J.D. or Ph.D. in a closely related field. Mid-career scholars in the field of human rights law are especially encouraged to apply. An invitation letter should not be sought. The host institution will first review applications, after which recommendations will be submitted to the Commission Board for approval. There are no language proficiency requirements, English is sufficient. All applicants must submit two recommendation letters.
