1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Buerkle Scholarship is open to graduates, including GED recipients and home-schooled students of high schools in Clackamas or Marion County, with prior recipients eligible to reapply regardless of county. Preference is given to older, nontraditional students or those returning to college after a long absence. Applicants must enroll full-time at a public or nonprofit institution, preferably in Oregon, and pursue a major in English, journalism, math, music, or physical education. A GPA of 3.50 or higher is preferred. Financial need is considered, and FAFSA filing is required. The scholarship is available annually and may be received for up to four academic years. February 15 is the early bird deadline and March 1 is the final deadline for all applications and materials to be submitted to OSAC.
