1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The K6GO Gayle Olson and NA6MB Mike Binder Scholarship will be awarded to those with active Technician Class License or higher. Preference is given to residents of San Diego County (especially Vista Unified School District and Fallbrook Union High School District), followed by Orange and Los Angeles Counties (especially Orange Unified School District, Whittier Union High School District, Huntington Beach Union High School District). The award must go to a California student. Applicants must pursue their studies in an accredited 4-year college or university, junior college or trade technical school in the U.S. Applicants must be a high school senior entering an accredited college, university, junior college or trade technical school in the US this coming fall. Applicants must be performing at a high academic level or an at-risk youth, who must submit at least two counselor or teacher recommendations as to how and why the applicant has turned their lives around. Applicants must demonstrate activity and interest in radio service or some technical proficiency by participating in some form of radio related activities such as emergency communications, equipment construction, community radio services, scouting, etc. Applicants must submit transcripts which must cover the applicant's entire high school career to date.
