1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The David Hudak Memorial Essay Contest for Freethinking Black, Indigenous and Students of Color is open only to black, indigenous, and students of color, who are either high school seniors graduating in spring 2025 who will be attending a North American college or university in fall 2025, or who are currently enrolled in a North American college or university. Students graduating from college in the spring or summer 2025 remain eligible to enter this contest. This contest is offered to provide support and acknowledgment for freethinking Black, Indigenous and Students of Color, as a minority within a minority. People of Color refers to all racial groups that are not white. Specifically, any person who is not considered white, including African-Americans, Hispanic-Americans, Asian-Americans and others. The essay must be 350-500 words, typed, double-spaced, standard margins, and font size 11 to 14 point. Students must include their name and the title of their essay on each page. Pages must be numbered. Indicate word length at end of essay. Students must choose the title of their own essay. Do not upload any other documents, such as a resume. Include links or footnotes for quotes, studies or major facts relied on. The essay will score more favorably by following all instructions. FFRF monitors for plagiarism and A.I. (e.g., ChatGPT, etc.). Winners may be asked to send verification of student enrollment. Students will be disqualified if you do not follow instructions, including word limit and deadline.
