The Ford Opportunity Scholars Program was established for parents of any age, especially those parenting alone, and adult learners who are not parents but are over the age of 25. Their goal must be to earn an associate or their first bachelor's degree. As of Fall 2026, applicants must have at least one year of full-time coursework remaining in their college degree program. Applicants must have demonstrated financial and social barriers and are residents of Oregon or Siskiyou County, California. Applicants who are a member of a federally recognized tribe of Oregon may qualify as well, regardless of their state of residence. They must contact the Foundation for specific guidance on filling out their application and must be prepared to show documentation confirming tribal membership. The foundation supports those who face significant obstacles to obtaining a college degree. The selection process recognizes the potential of all students, especially rural students. There is no minimum GPA requirement to apply. This scholarship may be renewed for up to four years. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact The Ford Family Foundation for more information.
