1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Ford Scholars Program was established for graduating high school seniors seeking a bachelor's degree. Applicants must have demonstrated financial and social barriers and are residents of Oregon or Siskiyou County, California. Applicants who are a member of a federally recognized tribe of Oregon may qualify as well, regardless of their state of residence. They must contact the Foundation for specific guidance on filling out their application and must be prepared to show documentation confirming tribal membership. The foundation supports those who face significant obstacles to obtaining a college degree. The selection process recognizes the potential of all students, especially rural students. There is no minimum GPA requirement to apply. A recipient of the Ford Scholars scholarship may attend a community college with the intention of transferring to a university to earn a bachelor's degree. They must clearly explain their plan for earning a four-year degree in their application materials. Some community colleges now offer applied bachelor's degrees. Students pursuing their first bachelor's degree at an eligible community college may still qualify. This scholarship may be renewed for up to four years. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact The Ford Family Foundation for more information.
