1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Congressman Peter DeFazio Scholarship provides targeted financial assistance to dislocated workers residing in Oregon's Fourth Congressional District, which includes portions of Benton, Coos, Curry, Douglas, Josephine, Lane, and Linn counties. Eligible applicants must enroll at least half-time at one of four designated community colleges: Lane, Linn-Benton, Southwestern Oregon, or Umpqua. Financial need is assessed through the FAFSA, and applicants must submit documentation verifying their dislocated worker status, such as layoff notices, unemployment insurance records, or evidence of business closure due to economic hardship or natural disaster. This is a one-time award designed to support workforce reentry through education. February 15 is the early bird deadline and March 1 is the final deadline for all applications and materials to be submitted to OSAC. Please visit the scholarship's website or contact the Oregon Office of Student Access and Completion for more information.
