The National Press Club Scholarship for Diversity Honoring Julie Schoo consists of a $2,000 one-year scholarship, which can be renewed for up to three years at $2,500 per year. The first-year scholarship includes an additional $500 book stipend, the Ellen Masin Persina Scholarship. High school seniors with a GPA average of 3.0 or better are eligible to apply. Applicants must be preparing to enter college and intend to become a journalist. Non-U.S. citizens may apply. Included in the application package, which will be submitted via mail to National Press Club, are as follows: no more than five works samples (on a high school newspaper or other media); three letters of recommendation; completed signed copy of the submitted Financial Aid Form (FAFSA); 500-word essay; copy of high school transcript; and letter of acceptance from the college/university of choice.
