A maximum of three L. Gordon Bittle Memorial Scholarships will be awarded. One scholarship is designated as the Pacific Asian American Scholarship in Honor of Philip Vera Cruz and is awarded to the highest-scoring CTA Aspiring Educators applicant. Applicants must be an active member of CTA Aspiring Educators. This scholarship is not available to those working in schools as members of CTA. CTA members (including those with an emergency credential) should complete the CTA Scholarship for Members application. Applicants must be pursuing a career in public education. Applicants may be in an undergraduate, teacher credential or graduate program. Applicants must submit two recommendations, one from a teacher, counselor, administrator, school coach, college professor.; and another from an educator or community member.
