The Rutherford Scholar Award will be given to the top ten students, as determined on the first writing of Diploma Examinations. The award is $2,500 CAD. Recipients are selected based on the first writing of Diploma Examinations from qualifying subjects. Qualifying subjects are: One of: English Language Arts 30-1, 30-2, or Francais 30-1 and Social Studies 30-1 or 30-2. Plus any three other subjects: Mathematics 30-1, or 30-2; French Language Arts 10-1; Biology 30; Chemistry 30; Physics 30; or Science 30. Recipients are selected from applications received for an Alexander Rutherford Scholarship. A separate application is not required. Students may when their official high school marks are available, and when they are enrolled in full-time post-secondary studies. Applicants will need their personal information such as their Social Insurance Number (SIN) and Alberta Student Number (ASN); and their school information such as the post-secondary school they are going to attend, start date, and high school they attended to complete their application.
