1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The King Olav V Norwegian-American Heritage Scholarship provides up to $3,000 in financial support for students aged 18 or older pursuing post-secondary education that fosters cross-cultural understanding between Norway and the United States. The award is open to both American and Norwegian citizens, with eligibility requirements tailored to each group: American applicants must either study in Norway or pursue Scandinavian Studies in the U.S., while Norwegian applicants must study in the United States. All applicants must demonstrate academic potential, financial need, and a sincere interest in the heritage and culture of the opposite country. Required materials include a short autobiography, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and a personal essay addressing career goals, community involvement, alignment with the Foundation's core values, and plans to share the experience with Sons of Norway or broader audiences. The scholarship is awarded for one academic year and does not require Sons of Norway membership.
