The James Alan Cox Foundation Scholarships For College or Technical School Students will be awarded to college or technical school students, four awards will be for video work while one will be for still photography. College or technical school students applying for these scholarships must have completed one year at an accredited college, university or professional school, and have taken courses in photography or photojournalism. The applicant's school must be in the United States. U.S. citizens attending U.S. government schools outside of the U.S. may apply. Scholarships will be awarded to those students whose work "tells a story." This is a fairly broad topic and may include a variety of subject matter and approaches (breaking news, sporting events, etc.). Please keep in mind that, for the still photography submissions, the sponsor is not looking for "art" photography. The focus of the entries must be photojournalism. Applicants must submit five digital images for the still photography category or two videos, with a maximum duration of 3 minutes each, for video submissions. Two letters of reference are also required. Please visit the scholarship's website for more information.
