1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Alate Award honors students currently enrolled at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs) and other Minority-Serving Institutions (MSI) to promote interest in entomology and to stimulate interest in attending the ESA Annual Meeting. The applicant must be earning a degree (B.S., M.S., or Ph.D.) and studying specifically at least one insect in the field of entomology, or performing entomology-related research in a field such as biology, agricultural science, forestry, evolution, ecology, or environmental sciences. Nominations may be made by anyone. Self-nominations are allowed. Applicants must submit one letter of recommendation from a mentor or supervisor that includes, if available, affirmation the candidate is eligible for the award, how this award will benefit the applicant, why this applicant should receive this award, contributions and/or service to academia, and additional information they would like to communicate to the selection committee. Applicants must also submit a plan to present at the ESA Annual Meeting. They must submit either a 10-minute talk, poster, or infographic.
