1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Sissel and Roger Espeland Memorial Scholarship awards up to $4,000 to support U.S. citizens aged 17 to 26 pursuing technical, vocational, or undergraduate study in the United States. Applicants must be current members of Sons of Norway or the children or grandchildren of members with at least one year of active membership prior to applying. The scholarship is open to all fields of study and does not require prior college credit or proof of enrollment at the time of application. Selection is based on academic potential, financial need, and a personal essay that addresses educational goals, community involvement, and alignment with the Foundation's core values. Required materials include a short autobiography, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and documentation of educational expenses. The award is granted for one academic year and does not cover costs from previous terms such as room, board, or travel.
