1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Astrid G. Cates Vocational School Scholarship awards up to $1,500 to one U.S. citizen between the ages of 17 and 26 who is pursuing technical or vocational study in any field at an accredited institution within the United States. Applicants must provide proof of enrollment and be current members of Sons of Norway or the children or grandchildren of a member with at least one year of active membership prior to applying. Selection is based on academic potential, financial need, and a personal essay that reflects the applicant's career goals, community involvement, and alignment with the Foundation's core values. Required materials include a short autobiography, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and responses detailing how the applicant will share their experience with Sons of Norway or the broader Norwegian-American community. The award is for one academic year and does not cover expenses from prior terms.
