1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Donald and Ruth Agnes Kaplan Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students who are residents of Waterbury, Watertown, Naugatuck, Cheshire, Prospect or Woodbury for four years or more. Students may be attending college in New England, NY state, or Israel, and majoring in a health-care related field. This scholarship may be renewable. First-time applicants must have a FAFSA Student Aid Index (SAI) below $40,000. Applicants must submit a letter of recommendation from a teacher, employer, clergy member, guidance counselor, or other community member who they think can best speak to their character, achievements, and potential. Recommendations from relatives or friends are not admissible. There is a different application link for students applying for the first-time and students applying to renew their scholarship. Scholarship renewal applications are due by January 15, 2026. First-time applications are due by February 17, 2026.
