The Semester Program for Study in Portugal Network (SiPN) is a non-renewable grant; however, applicants may apply up to three academic years. Applicants must also meet one of the following requirements: be enrolled in an accredited college or university; be preparing for a professional career where knowledge of the Portuguese language is useful; or working towards a bachelor's or higher degree in Portuguese studies. Applicants must be a legal resident of the United States. They must be of Portuguese or Lusophone descent or provide proof of study in the Portuguese language or culture. Applicants must submit their score from GRE or any other equivalent standardized test (if applicable) and letters of recommendation from two individuals who can speak of the applicant's character and/or financial need.
