The Amadeu dos Santos & Helen Rose Picado Memorial Scholarship is a non-renewable scholarship. However, applicants may apply each academic year. Applicants must not be a direct descendant of the donor. They must also be enrolled in a graduate or credential program (i.e. Master's, PhD, Credential program). Applicants must be of Portuguese or Lusophone ancestry. Applicants must also meet one of the following: speak Portuguese with at least minimal fluency; currently taking Portuguese language classes; Portuguese is spoken at home; or strong identification with Portuguese or Lusophone heritage. Applicants must be a legal resident of the United States. Applicants must submit their score from GRE or any other equivalent standardized test (if applicable) and letters of recommendation from two individuals who can speak of the applicant's character and/or financial need.
