To be eligible, students must be graduates of an ALSBE-approved math or science program after the spring term of 2018 and forward from that date, at the bachelor's or master's level, and obtain an initial secondary professional educator certificate endorsed in math or science from an approved institution. Students must hold a valid Alabama professional educator certificate endorsed in secondary math or science, or both, and be a full-time math or science teacher in an Alabama public school district or an approved charter school. Lastly, students must have outstanding federal student loans, whether subsidized or unsubsidized. Applicants must complete Section I of the AMSTEP Verification Reimbursement Form and take it to their System's Superintendent or Human Resource Officer for them to complete Section II.
