1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
RARE Scholars is open to persons who have been diagnosed by a physician as having any form of mucopolysaccharidoses (MPS) disease, phenylketonuria (PKU), or Batten disease, regardless of treatment status. Persons are not required to be using a BioMarin product. Applicants will be asked to provide a doctor's statement with the diagnosis. Applications open each year on Rare Disease Day in late February. The program distributes up to $20,000 annually for use during the following fall semester, awarding $5,000 for undergraduate four-year or graduate studies or $2,500 for two-year or vocational-technical studies. The applicants must be a U.S. and ex-U.S. residents enrolled in U.S.-based schools, including U.S. territories. One online recommendation form must be submitted on the behalf of the applicant no later than March 29, 2021 3:00 pm.
