The AFSCME Oregon Council #75 - William Lucy Scholarship supports eligible members of Oregon AFSCME Council #75 and their dependents, spouses, and grandchildren who demonstrate a commitment to labor studies or political science. Applicants must meet membership criteria based on current or prior active status and hold a minimum GPA of 3.00 or a GED. New students must enroll full time, while continuing students may enroll part time or in graduate programs. Financial need is assessed through the required FAFSA or ORSAA. The award is renewable annually for up to four years. Applicants must submit a one-page essay detailing their volunteer service and activism within AFSCME, and how their educational goals will benefit the union and its broader membership, including non-Oregon residents. February 15 is the early bird deadline and March 1 is the final deadline for all applications and materials to be submitted to OSAC.
