The Trent R. Dames & William W. Moore Fellowship is awarded annually to two ASCE members in good standing who are either practicing engineers, earth scientists, professors, or graduate students pursuing graduate study. The fellowship supports research that explores innovative applications of geotechnical engineering or earth sciences to address social, economic, environmental, or political challenges. Selection is based on the technical and societal value of the proposed research, its alignment with the fellowship's purpose, and the applicant's professional experience and contributions to the field. Previous recipients may reapply if eligibility criteria are met. Applications must be submitted online by January 15 and include a signed contact form, personal essay, budget statement, transcript, two recommendation letters (including one from faculty), and a resume detailing honors, activities, ASCE involvement, and work experience. Award amounts are determined annually by the ASCE Board of Direction and disbursed directly to the recipient's institution.
