The Air Force Sergeants Association Scholarship Program may be awarded to unmarried children, adopted or stepchildren of active duty, retired or veteran military members, Joint Services, enlisted and Commissioned Officers. Applicants may be 12th-year high school students or college undergraduate students enrolled or accepted to an accredited college or university. The sponsor must be a member or AFSA/Auxiliary for at least one year prior to the cut-off date. Applicants must be dependent upon their parents or guardians for over one-half of their support. All applicants must submit a letter of recommendation. If the applicant is a high school graduate, the letter must be written by the school's principal or a high school counselor. If the applicant is currently a college student, the letter must be written by a college professor, or if the applicant is a first-year college student, the letter may be written by the applicant's high school principal.
