The National Association of Black Journalists - Visual Task Force (VTF) is a volunteer-led community of Black visual journalists whose goal is to enhance the professional development of new and experienced members, while providing engaging mentorship. They continue to build upon the strong legacy of Black visual journalists who embody the ethics of quality journalism through conventional workshops and networking opportunities. The NABJ Visual Task Force Scholarship is open to students with a genuine passion for visual journalism. Qualified candidates will be chosen based on the quality of their portfolio work and their demonstrated commitment to academic excellence. Applicants must be a current NABJ student member in good standing. Eligible applicants include high school juniors, seniors, and college undergraduates or graduate students with at least one full academic year remaining at an accredited U.S. college or university at the time of application and disbursement of funds. At least 3 work samples are required; a maximum 5 samples may be submitted. Applicants must also list three references.
