The American Society of Radiologic Technologists established the Jerman-Cahoon Student Scholarship in honor of Ed C. Jerman, founder of the Society, and John B. Cahoon Jr., former ASRT president and a highly respected educator. Ten awards will be given for the 2021-2022 year to entry-level students in a radiography, sonography, magnetic resonance or nuclear medicine program. To be eligible, applicants should be a U.S. citizen, national or permanent resident. You should be enrolled in an accredited radiologic science program with at least one semester of radiologic studies (not prerequisites) completed and be an ASRT member in good standing. Your college, university or medical institution must be accredited in the United States. Funds may be used as long as you are continuously enrolled in your program of study. You may be awarded only one scholarship per year. If you qualify for more than one scholarship, you will receive the award with the highest dollar amount. Previous recipients are eligible to apply however, applicants are only eligible to win a specific scholarship twice. ASRT Foundation Board of Trustees, ASRT Board of Directors, ASRT staff and their immediate family members are not eligible to apply. The following information and documents are needed for online application: ASRT membership status; education; employment; volunteer service activities; resume or CV; and financial data (all applicants also will be required to report their adjusted gross income, number of household members and children in college, cost of attendance of current educational program and non-repayable educational assistance. Applicants who are currently enrolled in school will need to have their program director verify their GPA.
