1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Guthrie-Koch Scholarship Program offers financial support to individuals with inherited metabolic conditions pursuing higher education. Scholarships are open to individuals with one of the eligible inherited metabolic conditions, pursuing post-secondary educational or vocational opportunities. Conditions that qualify individuals for the scholarship are: Classical Homocystinuria (HCU), Maple Syrup Urine Disease (MSUD), an Organic Acidemia, Phenylketonuria (PKU), Tyrosinemia, or a Urea Cycle Disorder (UCD). Residents of any country are eligible. Applicants must be accepted to an accredited college or technical school before the scholarship is awarded but may apply for the scholarship before acceptance is confirmed. Graduate and professional students, as well as Individuals who have previously been awarded this scholarship are not eligible to apply. The scholarship is awarded to individuals who demonstrate strong character, academic achievement, and engagement with their community. Applications include background information, short-answer responses, an essay or presentation, a diagnosis verification form, a transcript and test scores (if applicable), and four letters of recommendation.
