The Association for Women Geoscientists mission is to encourage the participation of women in the geosciences; exchange education, technical, and professional information; and enhance the professional growth and advancement of women in the geosciences. Undergraduate women committed to completing a Bachelors Degree and pursuing a career or graduate work in the geosciences, including: Geology, environmental/engineering geology, geochemistry, geophysics, hydrogeology or hydrology. Sophomore, junior, or senior women enrolled in a university or 2-year college in the states of Washington or Oregon. One paragraph each describing your (1) financial needs, (2) current financial resources, and (3) academic achievements. One-page essay summarizing your commitment to a career in the geosciences. All college transcripts (photocopies and scanned copies accepted). 3 letters of reference (via mail or email); including their names, affiliations, and contact phone numbers, sent to us directly. Writers must be: 2 people familiar with your academic achievement and personal commitment, at least one of whom is a geoscience faculty member, 1 person familiar with your financial needs.
