The Maynard Jensen American Legion Memorial Scholarship will be awarded to students planning to enroll or be enrolled in an educational facility of higher learning. Applicants must be a high school graduate or be earning sufficient credits to graduate from high school at the conclusion of the spring semester, or be enrolled in a post-secondary institution, public or private, as of the scholarship application deadline. They must also be sons or daughters, grandchildren or great-grandchildren, adopted or stepchildren of members of The American Legion, Department of Nebraska, or POW, MIA, KIA, or any veteran that was a current American Legion member at the time of death. Applicants must submit a copy of a completed Financial Statement, certification blocks signed by a school official, applicant, and parent or guardian, and a school seal or an official rubber stamp affixed to school certification.
