In 1987, GFOA's Executive Board voted to create the Frank L. Greathouse Government Accounting Scholarship to recognize outstanding performance in accounting studies and to encourage careers in state and local government. Applicants must be upper level undergraduate students or graduate students. There is no employment requirement to apply for this scholarship. Applicants must submit two letters of recommendation from someone who can speak to their commitment to the public sector.
