1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The American Legion, Department of Hawaii is inviting students to participate in the 2025 American Legion High School Oratorical Scholarship Program, which is "A Constitutional Speech Contest," to be held on March 15, 2025 at the Oahu Veterans Center. The purpose of the contest is to instill a better knowledge and appreciation of the Constitution of the United States in high school students. It also develops leadership qualities, the ability to think and speak clearly and the preparation for acceptance of the duties, responsibilities, and privileges of American citizenship. Young orators earn some of the most generous college scholarships available to high school students. All contestants must be presently enrolled in a high school or junior high school (public, parochial, military, private or home school). The curriculum of the school must be considered to be of high school level, commencing with grade 9 and terminating with grade 12. Students must be enrolled in high school or junior high school during the time of participation at any level of The American Legion National High School Oratorical Contest. Contestants must either be legally domiciled within or attend an educational institution within the department that they enter competition. High school students that graduate early during the school year are eligible to compete if they are not enrolled in a college, university, trade school or other institution of higher learning at the time of the department finals contest. To qualify for the National Contest, the contestant must first participate in the State of Hawaii contest. Applications may be submitted to the American Legion, Department of Hawaii through email or mail.
