The Myrtle Beinhauer Scholarship offers up to $4,000 in financial support for U.S. citizens aged 17 to 26 pursuing technical, vocational, or undergraduate study in any field within the United States. Applicants must be current members of the Sons of Norway or the child or grandchild of a member with at least one year of active membership prior to applying. The award is granted for one academic year and does not cover expenses from prior terms. Selection is based on academic potential, financial need, and a written essay reflecting the applicant's career goals, community involvement, and alignment with the Foundation's core values. Required materials include a short autobiography, transcripts, two letters of recommendation, and responses detailing the applicant's connection to Nordic heritage and the Sons of Norway community.
