You should receive an e-mail from CollegeData with account activation instructions within a few minutes after you sign up. If you didn't receive the e-mail, check your Spam, Promotions or Bulk Mail folder in case it was delivered there instead of to your inbox.

If you still have the Pending Activation page open in your browser, you can request that the activation e-mail be resent by clicking the "Resend activation e-mail" link. You can also check that the e-mail address the activation message was sent to is correct. If it is not correct, you can change it by clicking the "Correct my e-mail address" and the activation message will be resent to the corrected address.

If you no longer have access to the Pending Activation page, you can access it again by logging in to CollegeData with the e-mail address and password you created at sign up. After you log in, you will be taken to the Pending Activation page where you can request that the activation e-mail be resent by clicking the "Resend activation e-mail" link.

Check the link in the e-mail you received and try again. If clicking the link doesn't work, try cutting and pasting or directly typing the link from the e-mail into your browser.

We also recommend you try logging in to check your CollegeData account status or to request that the activation e-mail be resent.

If you can't remember your user name and/or password, go to forgotten log in and follow the instructions to request your user name and/or a temporary password.

If you know your user name or e-mail address and password, but still cannot log in, it may be for one of several reasons.

If you continue to receive an error message on the log in page, go to forgotten log in and follow the instructions to retrieve your user name and request a temporary password to use to reset your password.

  • Make sure that your browser is not set to cache web pages. If it is, try clearing your browser cache.

A tremendous amount of information is available about each of the 2,000 colleges in the CollegeData database, including detailed information about admissions, financial aid, costs, academics, and campus life. All colleges in our database are U.S. institutions that offer baccalaureate programs (such as B.A., B.S., B.F.A., etc.). Two-year institutions and institutions outside of the U.S. are not included.

We license much of the college information from third-party data providers. They obtain the data directly from the individual colleges.

The results of the College Chances and College Net Price Calculator tools are calculated by CollegeData using information reported by the colleges. These results are not provided by the colleges.

CollegeData updates the college information annually at the beginning of each academic year. Additional updates are made throughout the year as necessary. Admissions, financial aid, and enrollment statistics provided are reported by the colleges about the previous academic year. Cost of attendance data is for the current academic year. For example, in September 2015, the admissions, financial aid, and enrollment statistics are for 2014 admission and the 2014-2015 academic year, and the cost of attendance data is for the 2015-2016 academic year for most colleges.

The College Chances and Net Price Calculator results display in pop-up windows when you access them from College Match Results or a College Profile. The problem could be that you have pop-ups blocked in your browser. Please check your browser settings and adjust to allow pop-ups for CollegeData.
