1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Lucille & Charles A. Wert Scholarship was established in 2006 through a generous bequest by Dr. & Mrs. Charles Wert. The scholarship will award one-year full tuition. Applicants must be a member of ASM International or Material Advantage student member. They must have an intended or declared major in metallurgy or materials science engineering. Applicants majoring in related science or engineering disciplines will be considered if they demonstrate a strong academic emphasis and interest in materials science. Applicants must have completed at least 1 year of college. The university must have an accredited science and engineering program leading to a bachelor's degree. The transcript, recommendation letters, photo, and resume must be submitted separately through mail or email to the ASM Materials Education Foundation. Two letters of recommendation are required, at least one must be from a professor or co-op/internship or work study manager. Each award is for one year; students must re-apply for consideration the following year. No applicant may receive more than two consecutive scholarship awards.
