Arcardia University (formerly Beaver College) is a liberal arts college affiliated with the Presbyterian Church. Founded as the Beaver Female Seminary in 1853, it adopted coeducation in 1973. Its 55-acre campus is located in Glenside, 20 minutes from Philadelphia by train. The Castle,' a campus landmark, is fashioned after a medieval English manor.
