1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
Fletcher Hoffmann worked for many years for Honoka'a Sugar Company and Fritzi Hoffmann was a nurse at the Honoka'a Hospital. Their desire in setting up this scholarship fund was to benefit the youth of the families who were impacted by the closing of the sugar plantations. HCF will give preference for renewal applicants who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good academic standing. The donor requires the applicants to attend an accredited, not-for-profit, two-year community college; and be a long-time resident of Hamakua Coast on the island of Hawaii.
