1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Blossom Kalama Evans Memorial Scholarship was created by the family of Blossom Kalama Evans with donations from the Big Island Girls Golf Club. Blossom Kalama Evans was a long-time resident of Hilo and a leading woman golfer on the Big Island where she formed the Big Island Hawaiian Girls Golf Club. She was devoted to assisting the people of Hawai'i. Preference will be given to students with Hawaiian ancestry; who will major in Hawaiian language, or other fields related to the history, culture and arts of native Hawaiians; and those who will submit two letters of recommendation. Preference is for recipients who were awarded in the immediate prior year if such recipient continues to meet the eligibility requirements and is in good standing.
