1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
The Lisa Perea Hane Endowed/Annual Scholarship was established by John Hane '81 in memory of his wife, Lisa Perea Hane, M.F.A. (February 22, 1963 - August 27, 2012). Lisa was a member of the College of Charleston Class of 1985 and graduated with a degree in English. During her time at CofC, Lisa was particularly inspired by Professor Nan Morrison, and she later earned a master's degree in creative writing from Emerson College. Lisa co-authored the book A Mom of Many Hats with Debbie Fink, M.A., to empower elementary school-age children whose parents are battling cancer and undergoing chemotherapy. John K. Hane III graduated from the College of Charleston in 1981 with a degree in English. He earned his J.D. from the University of South Carolina School of Law. He is the President of the Spectrum Consortium and has worked in both private practice law and technology.
