The HOPE Scholarship is awarded to entering freshmen who are enrolled at an eligible postsecondary institution within sixteen months after graduating from a TN eligible high school. Only courses leading to a student's eligible program of study (associate or baccalaureate degree program) can be awarded under the HOPE Scholarship program. Applicants must graduate from a TN eligible high school. Exceptions may be granted to TN residents who graduate from high schools located in states other than Tennessee. They must enroll in one of the eligible Tennessee public colleges, universities, or private colleges. Entering freshmen must achieve a minimum of a 21 ACT or a minimum of 1060 SAT; OR overall minimum 3.0 grade point average. Applications must be received by September 1st for fall semester; and February 1st for spring and summer semesters. Early application is recommended.
