1st Financial Bank USA wants to celebrate those who recognize the importance of pursuing educational and financial goals with the 1st Financial Bank USA Financial Goals Scholarship.
To be eligible for the Arkansas Single Parent Scholarship, applicants must live in the state of Arkansas or in Bowie County, TX. Applicants must meet all of the following definitions of "single parent": (A) Marital status: You're single (never married, widowed, divorced, legally separated) or you're married but living apart and your divorce will be final by the time the scholarship is awarded. (B) Parenting Status: You're the custodial parent or guardian with physical custody (50 percent or more) of at least one dependent child. (C) Living status: You're the only adult in the home with the child(ren), you live with parents or relative(s), or you live with a roommate who is not your partner, significant other, or a co-parent. Applicants must have earned a high school diploma or GED and have not previously earned a bachelor's degree. Their household income is typically not more than 250 percent of Federal Poverty Guidelines. Applicants must be attending or planning to attend an ASPSF approved school or training program and are pursuing a degree or certification that leads to employment at family-supporting wages. The Spring 2024 application will open on August 15, 2023 and close on October 15, 2023. The Summer 2024 application will open on January 15, 2024 and close on March 15, 2024.
